Mexico must light up its Casino Boom opportunity
AIEJA Calls on Mexico to Modernise Casino Regulations and Unlock Tourism Potential
The Association of Permit Holders, Operators, and Suppliers of the Entertainment and Gambling Industry (AIEJA) has urged the Mexican government to seize a “unique opportunity” to position the country’s casino sector as the next major entertainment hub for North and Latin America.
The trade body is calling for the modernisation of outdated regulations and the creation of a stable, transparent framework that supports sustainable growth in one of Mexico’s fastest-expanding entertainment industries.
According to AIEJA, Mexico’s casinos currently attract around five million visitors annually, a figure projected to double to 10 million by 2030. The association believes that a supportive regulatory environment could help transform the sector into a regional driver of tourism and economic development, benefitting the broader hospitality, leisure, and technology industries.
